DAPT State Rankings Chart
The Domestic Asset Protection Trust (“DAPT”) has become a common tool for estate planners in recent years. This is the ninth year that attorney Steve Oshins has published a DAPT State Rankings Chart, linking to each state's DAPT statute. The states are ranked by a weighting system that he explains here where he also adds, “The chart serves as a guide for advisors to help select the appropriate DAPT situs for their clients.” He has also compiled three other guides for state regulations on trusts that we link to below.
